My .mov/.mp4 files are downloaded as a generic "file" and won't play.
I am actually experiencing this problem with every video file I attempt to download from Dropbox. It won't download in the correct format (mp4 or .mov) and just shows up as a "file"
Here's a screenshot.
The only way I could play the clip was through VLC media player, It won't playback in premiere. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Yes, still the same issue with incognito mode and a different browser
Do the files have the .mp4/.mov extension in Dropbox? Take a screenshot showing the full file names in your Dropbox account. Mask any private information if there's any visible.
Also, if you just rename the file to add the .mp4 or .mov extension, you can probably open the files in Premiere just fine.

Thanks for your post, nmole75!
Can you describe to me the exact steps that you’re taking to download your video files from Dropbox?
Are you using the Dropbox website?
Let me know and we can look into this further.

Thanks for clarifying! If you go on www.dropbox.com, are you able to preview those files normally via the website?
If yes, I’d like you to open a different browser on your computer (or even an incognito window on your current one) and attempt to download a video file from there with these steps.
Does the behavior persist?

Adding .mov at the end worked! I can open in premiere now, thank you for that, Rich.
Here are the file names in Dropbox.
This is how they appear in the downloads folder.
