I can't see my photos and videos on my new phone
I just got a new phone. Shows this phone is linked to my Dropbox, but all the photos and videos that were saved to Dropbox in old phone are not here. How do I get everything I previously saved?

Hey Roxy1988, thanks for reaching out to us.
Just to confirm, do you mean that you signed in to the Dropbox app on your new phone, but you can't see the photos and videos you had uploaded to your account from your old phone?
If that's the case, can you double-check that you're signed in to the same Dropbox account?
You can compare the email address of the linked account on both devices, to check this.
Also, if you sign in to your account on dropbox.com, can you see your photos and videos?
Keep me posted!

It has the recent stuff I took pics of and screenshots of and stuff from about 2 weeks ago until yest when I got new phone….. idk why it doesn’t have the other stuff I saved in here which was the whole reason I got Dropbox….. so I could save them and then delete from the phone but now they’re gone 😞

Hey Roxy1988, do you remember seeing the most recent stuff (the ones you had on your old device) online at all at some point?
I'm asking, because I'd like to identify if the content was uploaded to your Dropbox account in the first place.
You could always check your events page. If you see no sign of them there, then they were most likely never uploaded to the account.
- Roxy198810 months agoExplorer | Level 3Yes. Everything was in my Dropbox. I made sure it was all there before I deleted out of the old phone. I did that prolly a month ago and it was all there and got new phone 2 days ago and now it’s all gone except the last couple weeks.

One more thing, can you let us know how you uploaded the photos and videos to your Dropbox, Roxy?
Did you use the Camera Uploads feature, that uploads them automatically, or did you manually upload them somehow?
- Roxy198810 months agoExplorer | Level 3Originally I uploaded manually when I first downloaded Dropbox. After the initial import, they are importing as soon as they are taken or saved to the phone.

Do you remember any file names, perhaps?
If so, we could send you an email, so we can do a search for them privately.
- Roxy198810 months agoExplorer | Level 3No ma’am. I just uploaded them all and didn’t really have a clue what I was doing. I had never used Dropbox before. I just know they are still in my Dropbox in the old phone but they aren’t here in the new phone.

You can easily test that by adding something to the new phone and seeing if it appears on the old one and vice-versa.
