Free team disbanded by Dropbox
Hi Team,
Can someone please help with an email I received as below? Not sure what it all means
The ???? Limited team has been disbanded by Dropbox. Your team’s folders have been converted to shared folders, and all ??? Limited groups have been deleted. Your account has been converted to a personal Dropbox plan.
Reason I ask is that we had a colleague that left our company under bad terms.
Many thanks in advance.

It would be great if dropbox could make the feature accessible to freelance users, who'd like to separate their business (for solo workers) & personal accounts, but want have simultaneous access to both. This feature is currently only available for business accounts to link to personal accounts, and the business account comes with a minimum of three users and is too costly for a single freelance individual.

This idea is going to need a bit more support before we share your suggestion with our team. We’ve updated the status to encourage more users to back you up! - Jay4 years ago

Hi MikeMp3, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Recently, support for free teams has ended, so most likely your free team was disbanded due to this reason.
Your account hasn't been affected in any way, so you should still be able to use it.
If you need any further assistance, please let me know! - MikeMp34 years agoExplorer | Level 3
Hi Jay,
Hope you are well and safe!
We had a paid subscription so just a little worried someone is accessing our files?
Many thanks for your quick response .
Have a great day and keep your head down.
Kind regards.

It sounds like the payment for the team wasn't renewed, hence why it has reverted to a personal account.
Were you the user who paid for the upgrade or was it another user? - theschwanke4 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Hi i also just got this email two days ago: "B Art Team has been disbanded by Dropbox. Your team’s folders have been converted to shared folders, and all B Art groups have been deleted. Your account has been converted to a personal Dropbox plan." I'm not sure why - If i upgrade and pay can they restore my files for me? I wasn't given any advance notice or heads up, so this is quite a surprise and inconvenient if they just really trashed all my files?! I will happily pay a annual fee to have access to my upgrade services and get my folders restored. THanks for your help!

Hi theschwanke, you should have received an email regarding the ending of support for free teams.
Were you the admin of the free team, or a member of the team instead? - Doug144 years agoExplorer | Level 3
I also received this message about my team being disbanded and that my new account has been converted to a personal Dropbox plan. I do not see my files in my folder.

Hi Doug14, were you files located in personal folders or a team folder?
Do you see any recent events or deleted files from the account? - Doug144 years agoExplorer | Level 3
They were in the team folder. I had no deleted or recent events files.
