221 TopicsCan I upload Camera Uploads settings to already uploaded photos or reset my Camera Uploads?
Yesterday I noticed my iPhone photos were being uploaded as still JPGs, likely loosing valuable moments I captured in Live Photos and having some quality drop due to JPG compression. I changed my settings to HEIC + Live Photos. However, all my already synced photos would still be low quality and limited to a single frame. When making such Camera Upload settings change, it would be great to offer an option to reupload all the local photos currently in the camera roll, replacing the instances with different settings. Alternatively, offering an in-app option to reset the Camera Upload state in Dropbox servers, so that it no longer recognizes all photos as already synced, could achieve the same effect via a more hidden path.14Views0likes1CommentHow to reset my camera uploads, I tried everything
Hi! I need to force the Android app to re-upload all the photos in my gallery. I set it up so it uploads everything, not just new photos, but it will only upload new items. I believe it recognizes older pics as "already uploaded" and I don't know how to reset this. I have already: -re-installed the app -deleted the cache memory -deleted all files in the Dropbox camera upload folder -restarted the device -even tried from a new device with a different SD card but with the same files in it Still, Dropbox will only upload new files. I also tried manually uploading but due to the fíes being cover 1500, the app never stops processing the files and never uploads anything. I'm on Android 12 and no other apps are set toSolved7.3KViews1like98CommentsMy camera uploads stopped uploading new files on my iPhone.
Until May 18, all the photos I take with my iPhone (iOS 18.1.1) were automatically sync'd into my Dropbox Camera Uploads folder. Since then, the new images are not going into the folder. My phone is fully charged, on strong wifi, and I haven't changed any settings. How do I get it to continue uploading photos to the Camera Uploads Dropbox folder?78Views0likes3CommentsSelect a date range for Camera Uploads to upload
That Camera Uploads folder gets pretty big! I move photos off into subfolders by year. But every time I connect my iPhone, Camera Uploads wants to upload all the photos it can find. My request is the ability to set up the Camera Uploads feature to limit the uploads to recent photos. User input would be an "on or after date." I'd set mine to January 1 of the current year, for example. Out in the real word, one reason for this request is that it's incredibly difficult to do mass photo deletions in iOS. It takes awhile for me to clean the photos off my phone. Also, there are some old photos I just like to keep there.31Views0likes3CommentsWhy is the camera upload feature on iOS slow in backing up the photos to my account?
Hi!!! I have just installed the app and opened an account (yesterday) to create storage for my phone photos so I can make room on my phone. I have automatic uploads switched on and there are over 13,000 photos and videos on my phone. I am curious how long it should take for the process to complete transfer from phone to app? The “backing up” action happened non stop for two hours yesterday morning and when I opened the app again this morning, it is showing as still underway - “backing up…….. 10894” - the number goes up and down. I’m trying to figure out how it works and when it will be safe for me to remove the photos from my phone so I can make space to update iOS etc. I have done some random “audits” and found a number of photos from, for example, July 2023, which haven’t transferred over to the app. Appreciate any advice, thanks!!34Views0likes4CommentsWhat is the Camera Uploads folder? Can I delete it?
A new folder "Camera Uploads" has recently appeared in my online acct but I don't know EXACTLY what I did wrong to create it. I did import pix on to the local HD using Picasa photo editor but must have specified somewhere to also upload to DropBox. Since it is more than 1GB this existing fldr must be removed and any new fldrs must be DELIBERATELY created to avoid a repetition. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanx. I can see lots of posts asking for support for Live Photos. I feel quite cheated that I have lost the ability to see these photos. As someone else has also posted, I have little snippets of my mother’s voice and movement that I have lost forever and she has passed away. Dropbox offer a photo sync service which means they need to solve for Live Photos, they have been around since 2015 so it’s not a new function. Please prioritise a solution to upload and then restore Live Photos.Solved881Views2likes6CommentsScreenshots not being saved to my account even though I enabled the feature on the desktop app
I set all the switches for Dropbox on windows to save screenshots, but nothing is being saved in the screenshot folder ---- as it turns out it seems that OneDrive is getting the images --- how to I correct this so Dropbox get the images?Solved55Views0likes6CommentsWhere is the camera uploads setting to change .heic to .jpg on iOS?
I have been using Dropbox for a long time. It worked I never had to change anything from my initial setup. On going from Windows 10 to 11 my camera uploads changed from .jpg to .heic. Most of my use for Dropbox is uploading photos from my iPhone. I have searched through the setting menus on the Desktop App, the taskbar as Dropbox is always open and the web. I can't find the thing. Where is this camera setting?79Views0likes11Comments
