Dropbox Backup
128 TopicsDropbox shows 305% usage due to backup, but I don't see any files being backed up.
Dropbox currently shows 305% usage, when I check the storage it shows that everything (~80GB) is stored in Backup. When I open Backup application, however, it shows Size: 0 bytes, Number of files: 0. What can I do? How can I make my dropbox empty again?58Views0likes10CommentsThe .dropbox_bi folder takes up 679GB on my new computer and there's no hard drive space left.
I have three computers, each of which have different storage needs. I had been using all three on my Dropbox account, with different folder sync settings, and that had worked for years. I recently replaced on of my computers, and now Dropbox won't seem to let me set the backups on the new computer. It seems to be trying to sync everything, and does not have enough space - so now the computer simply say not enough storage space. my .dropbox_bi folder is eating 679GB, and I cannot even get into it to see what all that is. Do I need to delete my entire back from that computer and start over again?19Views0likes1CommentAll Files Show ONLINE but computer space is not cleared.
Hello, is any one else having issue with dropbox listing all files to be "ONLINE ONLY" but computer storage is not being cleared. Huge issue on our end as the computer's capacity is 2TB and the files online (dropbox) are 2.12TB. The huge problem is, since the files are not online, my computer is maxed out and it started to be in operational. All the folders have the "grey cloud" and list 0kb which means they are not taking any space but my storage drive says it only has a few GBs available. Please help here as we are a studio trying to wrap up some packaging items. Thanks, Fernando [email removed as per Community Guidelines]1.5KViews0likes6CommentsAre backups taking up space? How can I make up some space?
I just upgraded my Dropbox subscription to increase space for my many photos. But I note now that I just have 553 giga of space. Is Backup taking up space and can I release that space to gain more for the many photos I want to put in Dropbox? Thanks32Views0likes1CommentMy account shows there are 33GB of backups, but my Backups page is empty.
Hello, My account shows that it's out of storage, I have only 180MB in regular files and a 33GB backup, but I don't see it anywhere else than in the subscription page. Nothing on the backups page. I can't delete this file to free up the space. Where can I find access to it?Solved355Views0likes6CommentsHidden .dropbox_bi folder storing 87GB of files locally!
Hi, I've just recently set up a new Dropbox Professional account. After installing the desktop app on my Mac I also set up a backup of my external SSD, which completed successfully yesterday. Standard Dropbox file sync seems to be working fine, and the Dropbox app says everything is up to date, but for some reason I now have a new hidden folder under my Mac user folder called .dropbox_bi. That folder is storing 87GB of files on my primary SSD, apparently related to the 220GB of data backed up from the external SSD. Is this my life now? Or is there some way to recover that massive waste of precious primary SSD storage space?Solved22KViews2likes92CommentsWhy is Dropbox Backup using up 3.5 GB? How can I check what's taking up storage?
Hi, I'm one of the users who suddenly lost god knows how much storage space and Dropbox stopped syncing, even though I keep almost nothing in those folders. I've tried deleting all the shared folders from years ago and whatever else I assumed was taking up space (images, mostly) and I'm still very low on personal files but all topped up in "Backup." Everyone else's posts in the community had their own Backup levels at 0. What exactly is taking up 3.5 GB of space in mine? Thank you!Solved82Views0likes3CommentsSize discrepancy between Dropbox and the content in my drive.
When i look at one of my folders online it says about 840gb. Meanwhile on my external drive locally the file is 874.94 GB How come this large discrepancy. It makes me worried to have my files on dropbox if there may be files left unsynced. It is entirely synced however i recently renamed the folder and im waiting for dropbox to say "synced" before proceeding. Kind Regards - Emil31Views0likes1Comment
