Excel crashes when opening a file from Dropbox
Hello. This just started occurring yesterday for one of my machines. I have files stored on Dropbox sync'd through filer explorer. When I open the file from dropbox (file explorer), excel quits responding. When I open the same file from my Desktop, Excel works as normal. Dropbox is listed as a connected service in Excel and there have been no issues before yesterday. I have updated office and performed a repair without luck. Any thoughts?
'Can't open file' error when opening Excel documents on iPad only
I cannot open Excel files on my iPad for the last few weeks. I get the error message: "Can't open file. Sorry, something went wrong and [document] can't open. The error doesn't happen on my iPhone or Desktop; only the Microsoft Excel files seem affected. I'm up to date with iPad software and Dropbox app. I would appreciate help.
Syncing Microsoft Excel files between PC and Mac
Hi everyone. Is there a way to sync my Excel files (saved in Dropbox) on the fly between my MacBook and PC? Like Continuity on Mac - u edit file on one device and synchronously see edits on the another device? I have my Excel files synced among devices with Dropbox only if I saved them before switching to another machine. If I forgot to save the excel file on my desktop PC before going to work - I will not be able to access edited version on my macbook till evening when I come from work. Someone in our small org is trying to enable co-authoring from Microsoft Office desktop apps. Looks like someone was able to add 'Dropbox for Teams' as a storage account but that's not showing up for us on a Mac running Sequoia with updated Microsoft Office and Dropbox app. Is anyone able to add it in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint on their Mac? How can I edit my Microsoft Excel files directly from the desktop app and not the website?
Hello, I am having quite the frustrating issue with my dropbox excel files not displaying on my firefox downloads. They are opening, but seemingly NOT from my desktop app, but rather the dropbox.com website, even though I have the correct folders all linked to my computer. The excel files from my dropbox app was always set to be able to edit, however those coming from dropbox.com have macros and will not let me edit the sheet (and to be clear, I have done everything known to mankind with the trust center settings on excel to try and enable the macros)...I have set select sync files to be 'online only' to help save hard drive space. I have 5 computers all of which run Windows 11. I've had frequent trouble syncing my Word File which has my calendars and to-dos. Now my HP laptop has a notification: "Repair Outlook": "This will clear local settings and delete any unsaved Outlook data. Do you want to continue?". Should I click "Yes" or "No"??? Dove
Dropbox Badge no longer showing edit history
Hey everyone, I recently noticed that the Dropbox Badge no longer displays who last edited a document. Instead, it mainly shows who is currently viewing the file. This was a useful feature for tracking changes without opening file history, and I’m wondering if there’s a way to bring it back. Does anyone know if this functionality is gone for good, or if there’s a workaround to restore the edit info in the badge? Any insights would be appreciated! Thanks!
