Hi there! when looking at deleted files, Dropbox only shows me this type of summary: However, I do not see a way to list all those files, which I want to do, to make sense of what got deleted there, without having to restore it. Is there a way to list all those files that were deleted there? Thanks LuC40Views0likes3CommentsMoving files: default destination should be current folder, not root!
Imagine I want to move files nested 10 levels under root. I navigate down, I select them, I press Move. Now the android app is showing me the root folder, why? 99% of the time I want to move files somewhere near their original location. With your design I once again have to drill down 10 levels under root to find the destination for my files. Such a bad UX, fix it.39Views0likes1CommentHow can I correct the dates of my files in Dropbox?
Hi, I upload pictures/videos with new dates (not correct) from Linux to dropbox. After update the mtime (old correct dates) in the local disk, I can not find a way to sync the date in dropbox. I tried stop the daemon delete the files from Dropbox and then start the daemon. I found that it remove the local file and had to restore it with the non-correct date. I stopped the daemon and rm -r ~/.dropbox and start again. It just caused indexing again but date didnt change. How can I remove the dropbox folder and make it forgot so after start daemon, it will resync with the correct date. Thanks, RafiSolved107Views0likes12Comments"Move (file)" should start in the current folder, not at root level in the mobile app on Android
I'm not sure if this is just the case with Android. But unfortunately, it has always been that way since I can remember. For moving 1 file "quickly" to a freshly created sub folder, a user needs to navigate the whole folder structure to get there...28Views0likes1CommentCan I move another person's shared folder into a subfolder within my account?
I have accepted another persons shared folder into my dropbox. Now I want to move that shared folder from the main dropbox folder to a subfolder but it does not move. Well it creates two version which is really strange.37Views0likes1CommentHow do I stop photos appearing in my timeline?
Hi, Sorry if this has been asked thousands of times and/or is readily answered online but the answers I’ve found tell me to use a Dropbox vault which I believe has recently been withdrawn, Summarily my wife and I have some rather personal (!?!) photos and videos saved on Dropbox which we don’t want our children to see if they open the app on our phones to look at holiday pictures or whatever, and currently although we’ve moved said items to an unshared folder the images still appear in the photos timeline. Please can someone tell me how to hide them from the timeline and hopefully even password or pin protect the folder we’ve put them in, similar to the ‘Hidden Folded’ on an iPhone? Thanks in advance for any help and advice….49Views0likes3CommentsDropbox search is broken and it doesn't show the correct results.
I have uploaded a folder directly of files, where (public domain) books are organized in folders by author, and then as files for each book. I had evidence that a certain quote existed in the folder directory for a certain author. Emphases added for point of discussion later: The gulf which has long yawned between employers and employed is widening; and the distance between the avenues and the tenement houses is constantly becoming greater." 😀 When I search for “avenues”, I first find the right book (file), and then within the file I find the specific paragraph. 😡 When I search for “tenement”, Dropbox tells me there is no such text in the directory. (I have since downloaded this plain text file, and Microsoft Word can find it easily). This has happened a couple of times, where I have evidence a quote exists, and I search using the Dropbox system, and it doesn’t find it. My very vague impression is that this is a new behavior? 😡 When I search for “employer”, Dropbox gives me all sorts of files, specifically highlighting in several of the cases that it has found “employment”. This is completely unacceptable, and if you are doing soft searches, it only wastes your CPU cycles. I have screen-grab proof of all of the above, if it helps to see.63Views1like11CommentsSorting of folder contents in the Dropbox mobile app on Android
I'm using Dropbox on my Android Samsung S22 Ultra. When I enter different folders there are different ways of sorting some in the upper right some halfway down to the left. I need to know how to have every folder display the newest content without taking any action every time I enter the folder. I broke up a dog fight between a 250 lb Leonberger and 125 lb Pitbull who were about to attack some children last year and suffered very serious spine and rotator cuff problems. The medicine I'm on Lyrica makes my short-term memory zero and thus the need to have everything sorted in every folder by the newest addition without having to change the sort method or take any other action. Hi, it's 2024 . IA is here. Please, scan all my photo and suggest something to sort them or help me find what I need. I have a Folder "Camera Uploads" with more than 30 000 photos from my phone. It is impossible to sort them or search them or even to navigate in the folder. Ex : I want to find the photo in a night market in china . It takes seconds within the Iphone. It is impossible on dropbox except if the photo is named "night market china" (spoiler : it isn't) . So Dropbox is good to save the pictures but barely usable to use/search for them . Please do somethingSolved2.7KViews7likes10Comments
