In Dropbox web, when moving many files or organising many files, it would be very helpful to have a section dedicated for tracking these long-running, async operations which is persistent. This is not the same as the toast progress bar. That one gets destroyed if you leave the tab, navigate to the account settings page or just come back after a while. I mean a persistent section tracking the progress of long-running operations and allowing some controls such as "abort" or track more prominently. If failures occur, they should also appear in this section, differently from the progress toast we have today which can simply be gone if you come back to the tab after a while, leaving you confused as to why some photos still weren't moved. Secondly, it's very common that moving 1000+ photos in Dropbox fails silently. We have to retry the long-running operations over and over and over until all photos are really moved. Ideally this would be better tracked in the section mentioned above with a simple way to retry, if not automatic.20Views0likes1CommentI'd like the ability to preview Affinity files on the Dropbox website.
Hi Dropbox everyone! I'm moving from Adobe Creative Suite to Affinity apps (Photo, Designer and Publisher), and since I use Dropbox to seamlessly sync Affinity files between my iPad and Mac versions, it would be great to be able to view those files online too, just like in the Adobe apps. I used to use the review option a lot with clients and I really miss that with Affinity files as you can't preview them. For now, I had to go back to the old way of exporting a .jpeg/.png or .pdf and uploading it to access the review. I don't know if putting this into practice is up to you or if it depends on something from Affinity, but since they already use synchronization and it's a suite that has been growing a lot among freelancers, this feature would help a lot. Thanks!29Views0likes1CommentAutomatically sign out of Dropbox on the site after a specific amount of time
At the moment, if I hang about or leave, Dropbox seems to keep me signed in, which is, for me, an unnecessary security risk. Surely a lot of people would dislike this, if they thought about it? There should be an option in Settings to log me off if I am inactive for a set length of time, or if I leave. Could you please look at this? I have been away from Dropbox for a while, but need to start using again to share photo folders. I have uploaded photos in folders to Dropbox, and when I want to share them, there is no "box" that appears to click on (used to be located next to the file when the file is clicked or hoovered over) that would say "share". I'm not finding this problem in researching proplem issues. Help!!28Views0likes1CommentI can no longer log in because of the new "games" captcha
I have been using the Dropbox free account for several years now. However, I am currently no longer able to log in to the site because the login puzzle is not working. This cost me a total of 30 minutes of my time. With the best will in the world, I can't afford this waste of time. I will therefore refrain from using Dropbox in the future if no solution is found.199Views1like13CommentsI'd like an automation that creates numbered subfolders inside the parent folder.
I'd like an automation where I create one folder for a job (Folder ABC) and have however many automated subfolders populate inside. So when I create Folder ABC; three subfolders populate named Subfolders 1, 2, & 3 inside of Folder ABC.67Views0likes3CommentsExtremely slow uploads using browser
Hey there. I currently use Dropbox for sharing files and upload my files mostly using the desktop app, which uses my full internet connection of 1Gbps, usually easy and no errors. My main issue: Some of my peers also use dropbox and will send me upload requests and vice/versa. These apparently can only be done through a browser, at least I haven't found a way to use the app yet, which takes absolutely ages. I've tried using different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Opera) or different machines (Win11, Mac and a linux distro) and it will not change how fast it goes. Also this connection is frequently dropped and the uploader shows as if all the files are uploaded, but when checking we see that some files are missing, sometimes a lot, sometimes a few. Is there a way to use the desktop app to share files with someone else's dropbox link? If not, is there are way to make the browser upload faster? I use a few other services that require browser uploading (WeTransfer, Vimeo, Youtube, Pixieset, GoogleDrive) and Dropbox is the only one that is slow. I just did a test of uploading 700 raw photos and it took the desktop app a little over 3 minutes while the browser still has over 45 minutes to go. Thanks anyone for the help, I couldn't find anything anywhere about this, hopefully is fixable!3.4KViews0likes27CommentsKeep file navigation linear, and frequently used tools accessible
Latest interface update is annoying & takes even longer to do my job. This has been true for the last couple updates, but this one is the worst yet for my workflow. I have two primary DB task daily, duplicate files into my editors linked folder, & request uploads from outside photographers. Now coping folders takes extra steps, & is less linear. The request files icon is harder was moved again and is even harder to find. A few versions ago it was up front and easy to locate, and in the latest versions it keeps getting buried in the menu. If most of your clients don't need Request Files accessible, then maybe make the quick tools customizable.25Views0likes1CommentDropbox not syncing to server using a shared link
Hi, I'm new here and I'm trying to figure out a problem. So our website has embedded a shared Dropbox link to host the files so I can upload them to a server but it is a common issue that it is not syncing with the website. I have already tried to clear caches, checking fire wall, anti virus, network connections but nothing seems to help resolve it. Do you guys have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!82Views0likes9Comments
