Sync results under "Your Activity" show yesterday's synced files not today's.
I can see syncing occurring with the dropbox notification icon on the Mac. When I look, syncing runs. When it completes, instead of showing what was just synced, it only shows files synced the previous day under the Yesterday heading. Those synced today or moments ago ought to show up under the Today heading, but nothing ever shows there. To be clear, the recently synced files do not show up under Yesterday, either. This seems like a bug. Because dropbox sometimes takes time to get around to syncing on the desktop, I need to be able to check if it recently synced any files. This behavior of never displaying recently synced files in the Your Activity list is disappointing. The image was captured mid-day, less than 10 minutes after syncing a dozen files. Note that Yesterday heading shows files underneath. The Today heading shows none of the files just synced.
Installed Dropbox on a new Mac and got "selective sync conflicts" on this and other linked computers
How do I fix the "Selective Sync Conflict" issue, which is now present on three computers: new Mac mini, 2021 MacBook Pro and 2017 iMac? Two days ago, I installed dropbox on new Mac mini, with the intention of synching ALL files/folders on to mini hard drive. Yesterday, I noticed some files had downloaded green circle with white check and most files had empty cloud icon. Many files/folders displayed "Selective Sync Conflict" in the file/folder name, which I have never seen before. I have a huge dropbox account, nearly 4 Gb, with many subfolders. Any advice to separately click (download) file by file would be daunting. I tried to resolve this with chatGPT and Grok. BIGGER MESS. Mac mini. Last night, I erased the Mac mini and re-installed Mac OS from scratch. This am, I reinstalled dropbox. Now, on Mac mini, all dropbox folders (still in the process of synching) are empty cloud (some with down arrow, some with no arrow). None of the files/folders have green circles with white checks), and 90% of folders have "Selective Sync Conflict" label. From the dropbox icon on top menu bar, I had selected Default sync state for new files => Available offline. 2. When I log into the online dropbox account, I similarly see "Selective Sync Conflict" labels on most files/folders. Now, my MBP dropbox folders/files display either a solid green with white check, or a white circle with green check, or a different gray circle cloud icon. Most files indicate "Selective Sync Conflict" where they never did before. 2017 iMac (which has selected folders) shows all gray cloud icons, which I can activate by double clicking =>.green circle with white check. I read that "Selective Sync Conflict" means there are duplicate folders, but I don't see any duplicated folders. I hope I doo not have to repeat corrections on three devices. Haven't looked at my iPhone dropbox, too scared. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
The Dropbox app isn't syncing on my Linux computer.
So once again Dropbox is not working on my Fedora 42 box. I went through uninstall and reinstall of the RPM I downloaded from Dropbox. When I go into my apps and click on Dropbox, the file manager opens to the Dropbox directory. But when I copy a file into the directory, it does not show up in Dropbox (checked with the browser app), nor is anything syncing from other of my Dropbox sources. And the dropbox icon is not showing in my Desktop panel, even though I did install the Gnome AppIndicator extension. If I try to open it from the command line I get "permission denied." .dropbox-dist/dropboxd bash: .dropbox-dist/dropboxd: Permission denied I've spent a couple of hours going back and forth on this. There's got to be a right way to do this that I'm not finding anywhere. Thanks.Is it possible to have the directory of files visible locally, without downloading them?
I have a new computer and want all my Dropbox files online only (10TB). Is there a way to have the directory of files visible locally without downloading all files? My old desktop was set up to show all the online-only files so if I needed them I could download easily. I could just sync everything and then manually set the folders to online only but this seems like a lot of work just to get a local directory.
Dropbox not syncing to server using a shared link
Hi, I'm new here and I'm trying to figure out a problem. So our website has embedded a shared Dropbox link to host the files so I can upload them to a server but it is a common issue that it is not syncing with the website. I have already tried to clear caches, checking fire wall, anti virus, network connections but nothing seems to help resolve it. Do you guys have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

A folder is visible online, but not inside my Dropbox folder locally on the device
I am seeking help. A folder that was visible in my windows explorer seems to have disappeared. I can still see the folder in the browser version, but not in my explorer (which I could 2 days ago.). I checked the availability offline. I chose the selection in my preferences and the folder is ticked. I unticked and reticked it. I deinstalled and reinstalled the app. according to the browser version, I have access to the folder. All hidden files are shown in my explorer. It is a mystery to me and I don't know how this folder just vanished from my windows explorer-desktop app view. I went through the trouble shoots mentioned. Any other idea? thank you.
Can I download 2TB of files in one go, without syncing them to my computer first?
Boss wants me to back up all of our assets from dropbox to the company's servers here in our office "just in case." Problem is that's hundreds of folders, almost 2TB of data (photos, videos, documents, etc). Is there any way to transfer files, or download all of our dropbox assets straight on to an external hard drive, and NOT on to my Mac? Without manually downloading <250GB sized amounts at a time?Some files appear in my account online and on my phone but not in my desktop Dropbox folder
hi all. there are some files missing from the desktop app on mac os 15.5. they are on my dropbox app / account but not downloading to the mac. any ideas why? ive tried re-installing, full uninstall, signing out and back in etc etc - nothing working. any ideas?
