Auto-Save message 20 minutes after my last edit.
Why does this happen: 20 minutes and more after my last edit, the message "Saving..." still appears at the top of the tab. If I try to close the tab, I'm warned that changes may not be saved. I think the changes are in fact saved, but why the misleading message?
Thanks for any help.

It hasn't happened lately, and here is the only thing I'm doing differently: I stopped clicking the caret at the top right to make the top line disappear. As long as I can see the cloud icon during an editing session, each change is saved immediately. So far, so good.

Hi Schwenck, welcome to our Community!
I'd like some additional info first, such as the files you're editing, and if you're editing them online, or locally on the device. You mentioned tab, so I'm guessing you meant online, I just want to make sure.
Do you notice this behavior with specific file types, or all of them? If you have any screenshots, you're more than welcome to attach it here.
Thanks a bunch!

Hi Schwenck, if you're editing the Word files in the Word for the web app, do you experience a similar issue?
- Schwenck2 years agoHelpful | Level 6I don't use Word for the web. I use Dropbox to upload Word files sent to me and saved to my Google drive. So I edit with Google docs inside Dropbox. I hope that's clear. Thanks.

Could you try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely to see if this helps?
- Schwenck2 years agoHelpful | Level 6I'll give it a try. The problem is that it doesn't happen every time. Thanks.
