Dropbox installer keeps installing, after installing successfully
I'm temporarily using a different computer. I successfully downloaded and installed dropbox to that computer, but every few minutes, the installer runs again. I've seen discussions where the install is unsuccessful but keeps going; this is a little different. Any help, thanks?

Thanks. This looks like enough of a pain that it won't be till at least this weekend (responding just so you don't think I've dropped the issue).

Hi Alan Z., thanks for bringing this to our attention.
If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try an advanced reinstall of the app using the steps in this link?
Keep me updated with any progress!

It says "please wait while setup installs" and nothing else is visible of the message in this tiny box. But it clearly has the dropbox logo and, as I said, a bit later, a dropbox file explorer window opens.

Sorry, I should have made more clear. I can't say what exact site I downloaded from but it was the dropbox site. I know it's trying to reinstall because I see a tiny window open up and it says something about installing and has the dropbox logo, and then a few minutes later, a new file explorer window open to dropbox shows up. I can't say whether it succeeds in installing because it's installed the whole time, but it doesn't say it failed.

Is this on Windows? What gives it away that the installer is running again? Does it show a window? When it runs again, does it succeed at installing?
Here to help,
