The current location is at C:/Users/... I'm trying to move it to my D drive. I run through the preferences/sync move and it seems to work BUT when checking it still says C:/Users/... I do have the folder on D drive and I have even gone into regedit changing the C:/users/... to D:/Dropbox. I believe there were 5 entries, reboot, run Dropbox and guess what... C:/Users/... Why won't it change locations. I am not running selective sync or backups. I have also removed DB and reinstalled to no avail. Win 11 Pro is UTD. In the following image you can see the dropbox system tray icon top right, with the error message below it. I am using the `i3wm` on Ubuntu with `i3status` to show the icons. To me this is a bug in the dropbox software failing to detect the presence of app indicator support correctlty, on argueabley the most common custom window manager.1.6KViews2likes23CommentsDropbox 226.4.5094 offline binary has superfluous in the filename
Hi Team, We are 3rd party patch provider like PatchMyPC or ManageEngine. We are providing similar services to our customers. We are willing to add latest "Dropbox" release to our catalogue and need help on below queries. The latest version of Dropbox 226.4.5094 offline installer has superfluous added in the name. Is this a stable version? Will the name for Windows 10 or later offline installers have superfluous in its name in future releases? Thanks & Regards, Metadata, Adaptiva.59Views0likes5CommentsHow can I disable the status column on Windows?
Dear Madam/Sir, I have a paid subscription of Dropbox and as a professional writer I use mainly Explorer and Microsoft Office with hundreds of different files and documents. I am orientated to the name of my files and documents, and therefore I don't want to see any other information, as it is very distracting and useless (for me) as well. Therefore, I choose in Explorer and Office for 'List View'. Since the latest Dropbox-update, however, a "status column" drops up and I cannot get rid of it. Please make it possible to disable this column or tell me where in the registry of Windows 10 I can change this setting permanently. Thank you very much in advance, Alfred van CleefSolved348Views2likes10CommentsRequest to retain xembed support for Linux devices.
Dear Sir or Madam, I have been a loyal Dropbox user for over 17 years, since the product was first launched. In the past, it worked seamlessly with xembed on Linux. However, I have noticed that the icon has recently migrated to AppIndicator, which has caused some inconvenience. I would like to kindly request if it would be possible to maintain a version of Dropbox for Linux that still supports the old xembed protocol. I believe there are many Linux users who share this concern. Thank you for considering my request. Kind regards, Guanqun29Views0likes3CommentsCan I use the Dropbox desktop app on Linux without AppIndicator?
I'm using dropbox desktop on archlinux without desktop environment. I'm using a window manager directly (in specific, awesomeWM). Recently when I start the dropbox desktop, it has a popup message saying I new version of dropbox will not work without AppIndicator, and it said my current environment doesn't support it. And I will not work after May 27. In fact I've already installed libappindicator-gtk2 and libappindicator-gtk3. I've two questions: How can I make it detect and use the installed AppIndicator? Can I stay with the current version of desktop desktop, even after May 27?494Views0likes14CommentsSync results under "Your Activity" show yesterday's synced files not today's.
I can see syncing occurring with the dropbox notification icon on the Mac. When I look, syncing runs. When it completes, instead of showing what was just synced, it only shows files synced the previous day under the Yesterday heading. Those synced today or moments ago ought to show up under the Today heading, but nothing ever shows there. To be clear, the recently synced files do not show up under Yesterday, either. This seems like a bug. Because dropbox sometimes takes time to get around to syncing on the desktop, I need to be able to check if it recently synced any files. This behavior of never displaying recently synced files in the Your Activity list is disappointing. The image was captured mid-day, less than 10 minutes after syncing a dozen files. Note that Yesterday heading shows files underneath. The Today heading shows none of the files just synced.177Views0likes20CommentsIs it possible to have the directory of files visible locally, without downloading them?
I have a new computer and want all my Dropbox files online only (10TB). Is there a way to have the directory of files visible locally without downloading all files? My old desktop was set up to show all the online-only files so if I needed them I could download easily. I could just sync everything and then manually set the folders to online only but this seems like a lot of work just to get a local directory.273Views1like6Comments
