DropBox will not show any files
I'm running android 14 on a Google Pixel and after the most recent update I can no longer see any files. My admin looked and said I still am part of the group. I deleted and redownloaded the app, and power cycles my phone. Gives me a message that says Dropbox was updated, then says "can't connect to Dropbox, Make sure your online, or try again later.
So far, it looks like that solved the problem of the files not showing and those annoying update screens. Thank you.
Hopefully, that solves JoshO's problem too.

Hi there JoshO, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Could you send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting and let us know if at which step of the process you're getting it?
For example, is it upon logging in or trying to enter the mobile app?
Also, have you tried another wifi network or cell data by any chance?
Let us know more and we'll take it from there, Josh.

On opening app it says "Dropbox is updating, sit tight. We'll let you know when it's done." Shows this screen for 5 seconds or so.
Then a screen that shows "Dropbox was updated, your admin updated Dropbox and reorganized some shared folders." Had a button that says "take a look"
When I hit the button then it goes to the home screen where it should show the files and gives the message that says "can't connect to Dropbox. Make sure your connected, or try again later"
Have tried on both WiFi and mobile network.
I am able to access files through the browser. Which leads me to believe it's not a permissions issue. - Hannah2 years ago

Hmm, that's really strange indeed, Josh.
Can you please confirm that you have at least 500 mb of free storage on your phone, for the Dropbox app to work correctly?

Hi JoshO, could you try using either a computer, or a desktop site and click the camera-like icon in order to attach a screenshot directly back here?
It'd help us in order to have a clear visual of this.

We discovered the same issue at our workplace. Android phones that had Dropbox previous to the update are able to access files. New phones are unable to even see any, as it gives the message "Can't connect to Dropbox. Make sure you're online, or try again later," even though they are signed in and see our main account folder under the Account section.
I actually tested this on my phone by uninstalling the Dropbox app and redownloading, and the access to files I had previously was now gone with the same message being displayed.
I would go to my Account and see that there is space used and I can manage devices and such, but went to Settings, or did anything new, it gives me those screens saying "Updating" and after the update I have to tap "Take a look." I was able to go into the Settings area once (next to the 3 hashmarks at top left of the display) after clearing data and cache, but could not change anything to fix the problem; otherwise, it goes through the update screens and kicks me out to Home.
The only time it changed was when I went to Account and tap Offline. It goes through the screens again about updating (sometimes several times), and I can sometimes see my files, and there was one time where I could actually access them (sometimes only after going back to Settings and tapping Offline several times).
Not sure how much of a "fix" this is, or how temporary it might be, but I currently have access to my files for the moment.
So, OP, try going to Account and tap Offline a time or two, or three, and check Files after each time to see if you can open a file.

Sidenote: web browser access works without any problems.
Only phones and tablets seem to be experiencing this problem of no access at my workplace.
And whenever I click Offline under Account, it never changes to Online after or anything...just keeps showing Offline as a selection.

Just went back to check my phone to Files and it gives the message that it thinks I'm offline again.
Tapped Offline in Account like 10 times with no change...
Please fix the app...
