I have two Dropbox folders but only one syncs, and it looks empty.
Dropbox issue:
I have talked with many computer consultants about the following and no one is able to resolve this. I’d appreciate any help. Also Camera Upload no longer works.
1. I have only one Dropbox account
2. I have a Dropbox folder on my PC with many files/folders that used to sync to Dropbox on the web and do no longer
3. Several months ago, a new Dropbox folder appeared out of nowhere on my PC with no contents - this empty folder alone syncs to Dropbox on the web
4. I cannot move any files/folder from my original Dropbox folder to the new one (various error messages are generated)
5. I cannot merge the new Dropbox folder nor delete it - it is connected somehow to the original Dropbox folder
6. All content from my original Dropbox folder appears on the web when accessed from the Dropbox app on my phone

Hi sorenwest, you can sign out of the Dropbox account in the desktop by following these steps.
Afterwards, you can sign back in with the correct email address, and the files will then sync to your machine.
If you want to delete the other Dropbox account entirely, make sure to log in to that account on the Dropbox site, and then follow these steps. Please note that deleting the account is permanent, and no files can be recovered once completed, so please ensure that you're signed into the unwanted account on the site when doing the deletion.

Thank you, Walter for the sys/tray tip. I now see that I have two different email accounts being used. I have no idea how any of this happened. How do I reestablish the full PC Dropbox folder with the correct email account used on my phone app and then how do I delete the new, unwanted (empty) account on my PC?
The help is so very much appreciated!

Hey sorenwest - sorry to hear you're having issues with this. To access the preferences of the Dropbox desktop app you'd need to click on the Dropbox icon in your system tray. Can you give it a go and let us know what you find?

I cannot find preferences in Dropbox on my PC or on my phone.
I received an email notification of the above post and clicked on the link to view the it. I had to reset my password to login. In the process, I ended up at my full Dropbox account online. After exiting I could not get back except to the empty account which shows my initials SW. I'm afraid I'm lost.
Perhaps getting to PREFERENCES as you suggest will get me straightened out. . . .
Thank you!

Are you sure about that?

This sounds exactly like having two accounts; your original account with your content that is still visible on the phone, and a second, empty account that syncs with your computer.
Go into Preferences in the Dropbox application on your computer and check the email address that is being used for the account. Then go into Settings in the Dropbox app on your phone and check the email address in use there. Are they the same or different?
