Imagine I want to move files nested 10 levels under root. I navigate down, I select them, I press Move. Now the android app is showing me the root folder, why? 99% of the time I want to move files somewhere near their original location. With your design I once again have to drill down 10 levels under root to find the destination for my files. Such a bad UX, fix it.37Views0likes1CommentMultiple windows for folders in Dropbox on Android
This USED TO not be a problem, but I think an Android update may have set me back. I once was able to put a dropbox widget (folder shortcut) onto my Android home screen that would take me to folder A in dropbox. I had a second widget that would take me to folder B in dropbox. Then I could toggle back and forth between those two folders using Android windows (or "Activities" as they call them). Now, and again I suspect an update caused this, I still have my two widgets, I click the widget to folder A and everything is good. But when I return to the home screen and click the widget to folder B, it opens up IN PLACE OF the window that had folder A. I can no longer have both windows open. Without going into details, this is a major problem for me as I have to re-navigate inside dropbox to get back and forth to the 2 folders. Has anyone run into this? Thanks ahead of time.30Views0likes3Comments"Move (file)" should start in the current folder, not at root level in the mobile app on Android
I'm not sure if this is just the case with Android. But unfortunately, it has always been that way since I can remember. For moving 1 file "quickly" to a freshly created sub folder, a user needs to navigate the whole folder structure to get there...27Views0likes1CommentCan't get my Dropbox photos to show up in my Android gallery

Dropbox has been working fine on my phone (Samsung S23) but today when I tried to open an excel spreadsheet it asked me to sign in to link my Dropbox to Microsoft. I followed the steps & ticked don't ask again but Dropbox a) didn't open the file & b) when I tried again the same thing happened again. I went > Settings > Dropbox > force stop > clear cache > clear data When I restarted Dropbox & tried to sign in I got a message something like Unable to send 2 factor authentication? I uninstalled Dropbox, power cycled my phone, reinstalled Dropbox & now I get the message Sign in failed Unknown error, please contact Dropbox customer support I have a basic account. I signed in via my Desktop PC so I know my login & password are correct. I check linked devices & it was showing Desktop PC, Laptop PC & my phone twice??? I unlinked both instances of my phone, uninstalled Dropbox on my phone, power cycled my phone, reinstalled Dropbox & I still get the message Sign in failed Unknown error, please contact Dropbox customer support Checked my account - still only two devices showing linked so tried installing on my Samsung table - same message :( Please help95Views0likes13CommentsOption to add a link to a file on the Android mobile app home screen
I have text files on Dropbox that I'd like to easily open on my Android device. Excel will allow me to save a spreadsheet to my homescreen, but my text editor will not create a link for a text file. Please allow us to put links to any file on the Home Screen. Thank You.42Views0likes2CommentsI just want to see my files after opening the app on the tablet.
I know they will not do anything about it, I am not naive. I just find it ridiculous with their automated replies... I don't know how it is for others, but Dropbox is a Cloud service last time I checked...I want to see my files, nothing else, my own files in my folders, not a nonsense ideas menu or whatever they are forcing me. I am a simple man, I open the app and I want to open the file I saved there, end of the story... Same for the browser version of Dropbox, too many useless annoying design fails that are in the way of my folders31Views0likes1CommentI can't log in to Dropbox Passwords - "Oops! An error has occurred, please try again later".
I'm having the same problem that I had 2 years ago when trying to set up Dropbox Passwords on my Pixel 7 (ticket #23077274). I had to delete the app from my phone and am now trying to re-install it on the same phone. I am getting the same error message that I did before: Oops! An error has occurred, please try again later. I tried everything that was recommended before, including: uninstalled both Dropbox and Dropbox Passwords apps, then reinstalled cleared cache for Dropbox Passwords (then uninstalled Dropbox Passwords app and reinstalled) disconnected from Dropbox Passwords For Android under the security tab (then uninstalled Dropbox Passwords app and reinstalled) verified that only 2 devices (including this Pixel 7, as far as I can tell) are tied to my account Would love help getting this set back up again.110Views0likes11CommentsSorting of folder contents in the Dropbox mobile app on Android
I'm using Dropbox on my Android Samsung S22 Ultra. When I enter different folders there are different ways of sorting some in the upper right some halfway down to the left. I need to know how to have every folder display the newest content without taking any action every time I enter the folder. I broke up a dog fight between a 250 lb Leonberger and 125 lb Pitbull who were about to attack some children last year and suffered very serious spine and rotator cuff problems. The medicine I'm on Lyrica makes my short-term memory zero and thus the need to have everything sorted in every folder by the newest addition without having to change the sort method or take any other action.
