Hi, I received several messages stating that our Dropbox storage was full, and another email stating that some content would be permanently deleted on June 4, 2025. I figured it was a storage problem, so I backed up most of the files and deleted them from Dropbox to clear storage. But that didn't help, and I found out on Sunday that VERY important folders that I didn't back up had been deleted without an option to restore. Is there any way to receive a backup of our Dropbox from June 3, 2025? We are willing to pay for the service if needed, it's very important for us to restore and back up the deleted folders. Our Dropbox isn't a private account, it's an account of a nonprofit NGO and most of our data was in those folders. Thanks in advance, Hila Kodesh VeChol33Views0likes2CommentsHow can I restore a deleted folder?
Hi! Dropbox deleted one folder. How can I restore it? I had received an email from Dropbox informing me that the folder was going to be deleted, but that email was in the Spam folder so I had no time to backup all the information of that folder. Now I need to restore all the information of this folder. Could you please help me?32Views0likes5CommentsError 400 when trying to view the activity and version history for a file
On the web, I have gone to a file in the Folders tab, clicked on the ... next to it, and gone to Activity - Version history. I then get an "Error (400). Something went wrong. Don't worry, your files are still safe and the Dropbox team has been notified. Check out our Status Page to see if there is a known incident, our Help Center and forums for help, or head back to home." So I'm hear to ask for help. I would like to get an earlier version of a file, as I understand that they are retained for 30 days. Many thanks, Phillip13Views0likes1CommentI received an email that the content shared with me, will be permanently deleted. Can I recover them?
I got this message via email Some content currently shared with you that’s owned by the xxx team on Dropbox will be permanently deleted i don't recall being part of a Dropbox team and this folder was owned by me, not anyone else. looking up in my account avatar, i am not a member of any team. i have no idea why i got this email, but now I'm missing a very important folder and i cant find a way to retrieve it. Dropbox allegedly has the option of retrieving deleted files within 30 days less than 2 weeks have passed since receiving this mysterious email but the files are not in the deleted files folder....!!!! and i cant find a way to contact anyone in Dropbox support to sort this out. HELP!!!74Views0likes8CommentsI deleted my "Recent" folder on my Mac, and then emptied the trash.
I made the mistake of deleting my "recent" folder on my Mac. Then I emptied the trash. I lost all of the files I had used in the last 3 months or so. The local Mac store can't find them. I am still within my 30 days, but I can't figure out what to do. (If I deleted that that, you know I am not a sophisticated user. If it is possible to get them back, I will need step by step instructions. AB.12Views0likes1CommentEdited files in Dropbox are down to 5 or 6 KB. How can I restore them?
I have identified over 50,000 of my Dropbox files have been altered or changed from standard file size to 5-6KB. Restoring them 1 at a time is brutal. I've checked deleted and they are not there. The only method I can use is More... Version History Restore. Is there a better way to be able to restore mass or bulk? The files show as edited which is odd considering they've not been edited from original file size to 5-6KB. I've attempted to use filter by date range, still no luck in locating them. Only option I have is file by file manually.23Views0likes2CommentsI don't know why my Word file hasn't synced the previous versions
I have been working on a Word doc all weekend, saving with command+S all the time, and on the third day, I dragged a bunch of photos into word and the whole doc messed up. Undoing wouldn't fix the problem: text was missing and photos were all blank - document useless. So I exited without saving and logged into Dropbox online. Version History said it had 5 versions from 4:39pm to 4:32pm, (it's currently 2:49pm here in Australia so even if this is American time it is wrong because they are behind us...) And where are all the other versions of the doc? The saves I made yesterday and the day before all had importent info. The five versions here seem to be days old - though they purport to be from today. What is going on?21Views0likes1CommentSee full list of deleted files?
Hi there! when looking at deleted files, Dropbox only shows me this type of summary: However, I do not see a way to list all those files, which I want to do, to make sense of what got deleted there, without having to restore it. Is there a way to list all those files that were deleted there? Thanks LuC39Views0likes3CommentsCan I somehow restore deleted shared files from a link I had last year?
Files (videos, large content) were shared with me by a vendor in December 2024 and I was able to download the content then. The vendor has since deleted them from their Dropbox account (not sure which kind of account they have) and is no longer helpful in sharing the original files. The downloaded files were corrupted. Is it possible for Dropbox to find these files still? The original file link is no longer active.14Views0likes1Comment
