Files from shared folder always arrive locked on Mac
Hi everyone,
I’m having an issue where all the files I receive from my teacher via Dropbox arrive locked (with the “Locked” checkbox enabled in the macOS Get Info panel).
I can manually unlock them by right-clicking each file and unchecking the “Locked” box, but it’s very time-consuming when there are many files.
Interestingly, this only happens with files that sync through the Dropbox app – if I download the same files through Chrome (directly from dropbox.com), they’re not locked.
Does anyone know why this happens, and how I can stop files from arriving locked by default?
Thanks in advance!

Hey baharid, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.
These lock icons are something that's generated by your OS and not Dropbox in this case, so you might need to change some kind of setting on your computer to stop this from happening.
Just to confirm, you do have edit access to the particular shared folder, right? Or just "view-only" access?
Let me know!
