Our referral has been marked ineligible, even though it shouldn't be.

I recently referred to a colleague to setup a new dropbox account on his Mac. After installing and login the desktop app, the status of the referral says X Ineligible.

Based on the info from the help center that 

Ineligible: The recipient is ineligible for the referral program.
- This may mean that the recipient already has an account with Dropbox, or that the recipient is attempting to register with the same computer as you.
- If you feel this status is inaccurate, double-check the email address of your recipient to try again.

I do not think either applies to us, and would like to get some support to figure this out.

    Hi Nancy:

    It is unlikely we are sharing the same IP. If it really happen, how can we resolve this issue?

    The Dropbox app is newly installed - this is for sure.

    Welcome aboard our forum, ericdou! Hope you’re doing well. 

    Since you mention that you referred a colleague, can you clarify if you’re sharing the same IP address as him? 

    Other than that, is it possible that the Dropbox app was previously installed on his computer, even if it was by a different person?

    Let me know, and we’ll have a look.
