Cannot log in to Dropbox anymore
Hi there,
Since migrating to a new Mac (via Time Machine) I can no longer log in to Dropbox in the Mac app. I put my username and password, then type in the code sent to me by email, and it fails without giving any meaningful error code. I've tried this multiple times, and the result is the same. Basically, I can't use Dropbox anymore until this is solved.
Hi sepide, and thanks for posting here today.
Have you, by any chance, tried to reinstall the Dropbox app on your device? If yes, does that seem to make any difference?
Let me know, and we’ll take it from there.

Thanks for the tip. Reinstalling the app solved the issue.

I have tried re-installing the app on my MacOS, but it still returns the error message that says "something went wrong"

Welcome to the forum, King_Jaey!
Out of curiosity, can you please open an incognito window on your web browser and try to sign in to the Dropbox website from there?
I’d like to see if you’ll receive the same error message as the one on the app or if you’re gonna be able to sign in to your Dropbox account with no issues.

Gosh!
I haven't had to manually sign in for so long till now, I was so confident I was using the right password 😄
I had to do a password reset, so I'm all good now. Thanks!

I have a similar issue. My Mac's drive has just been replaced and alone of all the logins only the Dropbox app has failed, it's fine in Chrome. My phone is not affected and I've tried a password reset using the email address shown on my phone but have not received a p/w reset email [and I've looked in Spam!].
I've tried a reinstall but just as before I'm told my email or p/w is wrong. My browser also logged in to dropboxforum.com with no trouble,
I thought I'd change my p/w on my phone, but AFAICS I can change my name, but not my email address or p/w and it seems the same in Chrome.
If I can't access files on my Mac I guess I'll just move everything to iCloud and close the account.
Hope you guys can help, CC

Hey Colin C.16, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Could you send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting so that we can have a visual too?
If you happen to be on the Basic plan, have you ensured that you have no more than 3 devices connected to your account as you might be hitting the device limit?

Thanks for getting back to me.
I can't send screen shots as the problem fixed itself.
I've no idea why DropBox took time to get used to my drive being replace by an SSD, but when I clicked on it today it just logged in as normal, with no need for a p/w. I think an SSD is a shock to bits of the system as half my custom icons were missing yesterday and over-night all but one have rebuilt themselves.
Thanks again, Colin
