Hello, I recently invited a friend and a family member to join dropbox and both of them appeared as ineligible for the referral program after installing the desktop app. I read other threads on the same topic and I can already state that, according to both of them, their e-mail address was never used for a dropbox account and their respective pc never had a dropbox installation previously (but I cannot verify this myself). I have never shared an ip address with the friend invitee but I may have occasionally used the internet connection of my family member. Nevertheless, I don't think I should be tagged with this ip address in dropbox database. Since the problem occurred with both invitations, I presume it's not linked to the ip address. Would it be possible to have more details on the reason for ineligibility on the referral page and, ideally, a button to appeal directly there? That would prevent so many users from posting threads here for the same question/problem.20Views0likes1CommentDropbox referral shows as "ineligible" when using the same LAN.
Hi, I went around a friend's house to help him setup a new dropbox account on his windows PC (for the first time) and we installed the desktop app. My own computer was on the same LAN whilst doing this Under my "Refer a friend" option, his account is showing as ineligible. I understand from this forum it is because I was on the same LAN at the time, but I also understand that a DropBox support staff can correct this if they read this Forum article. Here's hoping Thank YouSolved77Views0likes8CommentsOur referral has been marked ineligible, even though it shouldn't be.
I recently referred to a colleague to setup a new dropbox account on his Mac. After installing and login the desktop app, the status of the referral says X Ineligible. Based on the info from the help center that Ineligible: The recipient is ineligible for the referral program. - This may mean that the recipient already has an account with Dropbox, or that the recipient is attempting to register with the same computer as you. - If you feel this status is inaccurate, double-check the email address of your recipient to try again. I do not think either applies to us, and would like to get some support to figure this out.33Views0likes3CommentsWhy are my referrals marked as ineligible?
I invited my two nieces to Dropbox so that we can share files. I tried using the referral link to get some space, but once they have signed in, I'm finding that they are "ineligible". May I ask why? We specifically tried to log them into separate computers that never had Dropbox installed, so we are not sure why this is happening.49Views0likes1CommentThe recipient of my referral used a device that had Dropbox installed before and it's ineligible.
Dear friends at Dropbox, My friend's daughter will be going to further her studies in another town next month, my wife and i decided to bless her with a laptop previously used by my wife. After I formatted the laptop with clean installed Windows 11. I referred her to use Dropbox and guided her to go through the installation using the email link I sent. I later noticed my referral is marked as ineligible. Reading from other Community discussion, I believe it must be due to the laptop already previously had Dropbox installed. I already bought a new mini PC for my wife 2 years ago and she no longer use the laptop, that is why we are giving it away to my friend's daughter, so she can use it when she goes further her studies. Any advise on how this matter can be rectified would be most appreciated, thank you in advance. Sincerely, Jason22Views0likes1CommentI've sent referrals to many people, but we haven't redeemed the extra space.
Hi everyone, I would appreciate anyone's help with this issue. I know for a fact that over 30 accounts have used my referral link to create new Dropbox accounts. When I say I know for a fact, it's because I've seen it, and yet my Dropbox account is still at 2.5 gigabytes of space. That doesn't add up. My referral link is [removed per Community Guidelines]. That's the link that has been used each time. And yet, nothing. So, what is the issue, and how can I get a resolution on this and get the benefits from each one of those referrals?9Views0likes1CommentWhy has my referral quota been removed, and I'm down to 2 GB only?
My account HAD 7.5 GB of personal referral space and 2.5 GB of other referral space, for a total of 12 GB. All the extra space is gone now? I'm down to 2GB? Why? I'm getting Can't Sync messages, and other errors. I see other people are having similar issues. When I signed up, over a decade ago, I was informed my extra space was free for the life of my account82Views0likes10Comments
