Hi there So my computer completely died without any warning. I have a new computer and logged into Dropbox. But I have no files for the last 3 years. I have all my other stuff which goes back to 2008. I use Dropbox all the time. I see that at one stage I must have signed up for Dropbox Plus but that I stopped paying for it in 2022 because the card I was using expired. I don't think I realised this. Could this be the issue? I seem to have plenty of storage still with the free plan. Can anyone help me work out why I can't see the last 3 years of my files? It's not a total disaster but I would like them back if possible. Many thanks Emma56Views0likes8CommentsCan Dropbox delete files? I hadn't accessed my account in a while and it's now empty.
I haven't logged on in a while, and my account is completely empty. Does Dropbox delete stuff? If so, that's messed up! I had lots of photos in there! And I can't contact them because I'm on a free account...Solved120Views0likes4CommentsThe account appears to have been deleted without a warning.
Hello, I hope someone can help. I have had a dropbox account going back many years, and have been using it to upload family photos (and camera uploads automatically from my phone). In October last year, I received an email saying my account had been downgraded as a payment for my plan hadn't gone through—but my inbox is a mess, so I only just saw it this evening. The email said it was downgraded but that my files hadn't been deleted. There was nothing about deletion. However, when I logged in tonight, it's like a brand new account... No files at all, no event/account activity. Has anyone had a similar situation? I'm so frightened that I've lost everything, as this was my backup. I don't know what I'll do if I can't recover my files. That's my wedding, my deceased family members, my whole life going back to 2012... Any assistance at all would be so appreciated. Thank you in advance!122Views1like16CommentsAccess to "overfilled" Dropbox
I have been using the free version of Dropbox and the automatic backups I had set overfilled it. Now I can't get into Dropbox to remove files or change what backups are made. If I click on Dropbox, it only shows a pdf file (not mine) and nothing else. In the bottom left corner of the screen is a message in pink showing that I have exceeded the storage limit. However, there is no option for actually accessing my files for deletion or changing anything in my account. A young man on Dropbox's help chat got me to a point where I could see the files, but I was unable to delete or download any of them. Very frustrating.31Views0likes1CommentError 500, when deleting account
I can't delete my account. When I do try to delete my account, I get a error 500 message. I am on a free account that was downgraded from one of the previous business plans that are no longer offered. The chatbot is useless, and a free account doesn't get access to any support.
