How do I fix the "Selective Sync Conflict" issue, which is now present on three computers: new Mac mini, 2021 MacBook Pro and 2017 iMac? Two days ago, I installed dropbox on new Mac mini, with the intention of synching ALL files/folders on to mini hard drive. Yesterday, I noticed some files had downloaded green circle with white check and most files had empty cloud icon. Many files/folders displayed "Selective Sync Conflict" in the file/folder name, which I have never seen before. I have a huge dropbox account, nearly 4 Gb, with many subfolders. Any advice to separately click (download) file by file would be daunting. I tried to resolve this with chatGPT and Grok. BIGGER MESS. Mac mini. Last night, I erased the Mac mini and re-installed Mac OS from scratch. This am, I reinstalled dropbox. Now, on Mac mini, all dropbox folders (still in the process of synching) are empty cloud (some with down arrow, some with no arrow). None of the files/folders have green circles with white checks), and 90% of folders have "Selective Sync Conflict" label. From the dropbox icon on top menu bar, I had selected Default sync state for new files => Available offline. 2. When I log into the online dropbox account, I similarly see "Selective Sync Conflict" labels on most files/folders. Now, my MBP dropbox folders/files display either a solid green with white check, or a white circle with green check, or a different gray circle cloud icon. Most files indicate "Selective Sync Conflict" where they never did before. 2017 iMac (which has selected folders) shows all gray cloud icons, which I can activate by double clicking =>.green circle with white check. I read that "Selective Sync Conflict" means there are duplicate folders, but I don't see any duplicated folders. I hope I doo not have to repeat corrections on three devices. Haven't looked at my iPhone dropbox, too scared. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.128Views0likes11CommentsThe Dropbox app isn't syncing on my Linux computer.
So once again Dropbox is not working on my Fedora 42 box. I went through uninstall and reinstall of the RPM I downloaded from Dropbox. When I go into my apps and click on Dropbox, the file manager opens to the Dropbox directory. But when I copy a file into the directory, it does not show up in Dropbox (checked with the browser app), nor is anything syncing from other of my Dropbox sources. And the dropbox icon is not showing in my Desktop panel, even though I did install the Gnome AppIndicator extension. If I try to open it from the command line I get "permission denied." .dropbox-dist/dropboxd bash: .dropbox-dist/dropboxd: Permission denied I've spent a couple of hours going back and forth on this. There's got to be a right way to do this that I'm not finding anywhere. Thanks.16Views0likes2CommentsDropbox not syncing to server using a shared link
Hi, I'm new here and I'm trying to figure out a problem. So our website has embedded a shared Dropbox link to host the files so I can upload them to a server but it is a common issue that it is not syncing with the website. I have already tried to clear caches, checking fire wall, anti virus, network connections but nothing seems to help resolve it. Do you guys have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!51Views0likes7CommentsHow to reset my camera uploads, I tried everything
Hi! I need to force the Android app to re-upload all the photos in my gallery. I set it up so it uploads everything, not just new photos, but it will only upload new items. I believe it recognizes older pics as "already uploaded" and I don't know how to reset this. I have already: -re-installed the app -deleted the cache memory -deleted all files in the Dropbox camera upload folder -restarted the device -even tried from a new device with a different SD card but with the same files in it Still, Dropbox will only upload new files. I also tried manually uploading but due to the fíes being cover 1500, the app never stops processing the files and never uploads anything. I'm on Android 12 and no other apps are set toSolved7.3KViews1like98CommentsSome files appear in my account online and on my phone but not in my desktop Dropbox folder

I have Dropbox installed on Mac OSX 15.5. I have opted out of File Finder and chosen Selective Sync. I want some of my filers to be offline and others to be online only. But the ONLY files and folders I see in Finder are those I have set to be offline. There are no icons and no Dropbox integration with the Right Click menu. I have followed the steps to uninstall and reinstall using the Advanced settings (several times). But nothing changes. Hi! I have my files set to local (not selective sync or online-only) and I have shared a folder with someone outside my company so they may upload files. We have done this many times with no issues. However, currently I'm looking in their folder on my desktop app through the FileFinder in Windows and I can see the dates on certain folders suggest that new files were uploaded, but when I open those folders on my desktop they are empty. But, when I view the same folders online, I can see that there are files in them. My desktop Dropbox tells me that syncing is up to date, so it's not that. Any ideas why this happened and how to fix it?50Views0likes2CommentsI can't find the app's Sync tab, "make online-only" option, or the "Manage hard drive space" tool.
Hello, For the first time, I am trying to free up hard disk space on my laptop by making some of my files/folders in Dropbox available online only. I've been reading the literature online. I have the dropbox desktop app, version 205.4.5765. I have windows 10. When I go to my account, under Preferences, there is no sync tab appearing. When I click on the folders, there is no "Make online only" option available. Also, there is mention in the literature of a Manage hard disc space tool, but I cannot find it anywhere. I am on the free basic plan, it tells me I am using 3.58 G of the 14.75 available to me ( acquired a long time ago through getting other people to download dropbox). I have a Windows 11 desktop with Dropbox that I have been using for several years, with no issues. Today, suddenly, it stopped syncing. There was an error message and after this New / modified files in desktop are not copied to the cloud. So far I have done all the following: Updated Windows 11 with latest patches Run chkdsk /f and fixed a few sectors with problems. I suspected the first message might be related to this but I am not sure. Anyway, it was fixed and Dropbox reinstalled. Uninstalled Dropbox and installed it again (three times) Logout and login multiple times Checked firewall and Dropbox is allowed to operate Checked anti-virus software and it has no firewall so it is not preventing Dropbox to connect to the internet Disabled VPN just in case I haven't changed anything in the desktop in the last few months (no new software or windows setup). It just stopped working. At this time I have no ideal how I can further troubleshoot. Any advice will be appreciated. I really need Dropbox for my work as I share files and folders with several people. The folder that is not being sync is not shared with anyone and, as all my files, resides on my hard-drive. Thank youSolved86Views0likes3CommentsThe new files I add to the desktop app aren't syncing to my handheld device (with the mobile app).
I have dropbox app on computer and handheld, before when I dragged a file on computer to the dropbox app it would also show up in the dropbox app on the handheld. But not anymore, how come? Have I by mistake changed something in settings either on computer or on handheld?Solved73Views0likes9Comments
