Dropbox icon not appearing in Macbook dock
Earlier this week, I traded in my two year old MacBook Pro 14" running Sequoia 15.4.1 for a new MacBook Pro 14", which is also running the same version of Sequoia.
On the old MacBook, I had the Dropbox Mac desktop app in the dock. Note - the actual blue and white Dropbox app icon, not the group of folders representing the Dropbox folders.
I reinstalled the Dropbox Mac desktop app but when I open it, the blue and white Dropbox app does not appear in the dock. I can see the icon in the menu bar but nothing in the dock, which is my preferred way to access my Dropbox folders.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times but no difference. I have given Dropbox full disk access in System Settings. It is set to launch on start-up.
Can anyone offer a thought on why this is happening? Please don't suggest any alternative ways to access my Dropbox folders, I know what they are but they are not my preferred route and I can't see why this is happening with the new MacBook running exactly same version of the OS. Thanks.

HI Mark_Coyle, in order to look into this matter in more detail, I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for them to investigate further.

So is the app 'up to date' or still syncing DB_LisaV?
Could you maybe send us a screenshot of how the file looks on your end so that we can check its syncing icon as well?

Thanks Walter
I just posted more details in a new post on here: The Dropbox desktop app on Mac lost file content and isn't syncing
MacBook Sonoma 14.5
Drobox v223.4.4909
The desktop app shows "no activity" when I click on the icon in the menu bar. I have about 1.4-1.5 GB of unused space on my account. - Walter2 months ago

Hey Mark_Coyle - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Can you please let me know the location of your Dropbox folder as per the app's preferences under the Sync tab?
As for you DB_LisaV - could you please clarify your computer's OS version and the version and status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your menu bar/system tray?

do you still have access to all your files on your Mac?
I just had to reinstall the Dropbox app because it disappeared (I did not delete or uninstall) and today my folder on my computer shows the files but there is no content attached to them. Like, there is no image content in an image file. But it's there on the browser Dropbox.
I have always had access to my files on my computer no matter what the login or syncing status is of my Dropbox account.
