How can I restore a shared folder owned by a deleted Dropbox team account?

Hi! Dropbox deleted one folder. How can I restore it? I had received an email from Dropbox informing me that the folder was going to be deleted, but that email was in the Spam folder so I had no time to backup all the information of that folder.
Now I need to restore all the information of this folder. Could you please help me?

Hey mgm17 - sorry to hear about this.

When did you receive this email and how long has it been since you folder was deleted?

Can you have a look at your events page and/or the deleted files page and let us know if you see any signs of it there?

    Thank you.

The email will have a date on that says when the data is due to be removed. If that date has passed its not recoverable I'm afraid.

I have received the email on May, 22nd. And the folder was deleted on June, 4th. Can I recover the folder?

Unfortunately not - as the email will have stated (I got an identical one) the deletion at that time is permanent.

mgm17, hope you don’t mind if I jump in. Can you send me a screenshot of the email you received from Dropbox?

Thanks for the screenshot mgm17 - much appreciated.

It seems that some content that was shared with you belonged to a Dropbox team that has since been permanently deleted. As a result, the content in the shared folder has also been permanently removed since the 4th of June has already passed.

I'm afraid that this content cannot be recovered, but please let us know if you have anything else to ask.

Could you please let me know the reason why Drpbox deleted this folder?

The folder was owned by a team that was permanently deleted (either the owners closed the team or they stopped paying for the service). When a team is permanently deleted, all data owned by the team is permanently deleted.

If you need access to the files again, you should reach out to the owner of the folder and ask them if they still have the files stored somewhere.

I'm afraid Rich is correct here mgm17

The reason the shared folder is inaccessible is because the Dropbox team that previously shared the content with you has been deleted and as a result the content that the team owned was deleted as well.

You can reach out to the person who originally shared it with you to regain access if needed.

If you don't remember who they are, you can try searching your email's inbox for the email you received when they first shared the folder with you.
